Riparian Assessments

  • Fish/Fisheries Habitat Assessments
  • Applied Aquatic Research, Assessment & Monitoring
  • CEAA/Mitigation Planning/Compensation/Permit Applications
  • Riparian Area Regulation (RAR) Assessments
  • Foreshore Biophysical Assessments (Diving/ROV)

G3 conducts a wide range of Watershed and Site Level assessments implemented on behalf of government, industry and private sector clients. Riparian assessments involved aerial reconnaissance, on-site evaluations, interpretation of various mapping references and aerial photographs. Assessments included the development of rehabilitation prescriptions. Investigations were conducted in large watersheds as an applied ecosystem approach to watershed restoration.

G3 staff are Qualified Environmental Professionals able to conduct both simple and detailed Riparian Areas Assessments as required under the newly implemented Riparian Area Regulation. Assessment criteria would be tailored to suit various municipal, provincial and federal objectives for residential, commercial and industrial clients. Evaluations could include fisheries, habitat, potential impacts and mitigation measures to circumvent impacts of development to fish and fish habitat.

G3 has completed Species at Risk Act (SARA) assessments to evaluate potential species use and habitat associated with the federal SARA regulations and provincial Red and Blue species list. These studies have been conducted for First Nations and industrial development projects in order to fulfill CEAA requirements and federal and provincial regulations.
